I have been fishing this farm pond by the Cedar river for the last 7 or 8 years. It's always has little bit of everything. But it is always good for a half dozen crappies. Never caught anything more than a 14" 3/4lb crappie out of there. This must have been our lucky day. A friend and i caught 8 crappies. 4 of which were over 2 pounds. Not many fish total, but i have always told him this place is more "quality not quantity". It's a day i'll never forget.
Biggest one was 2lbs 14 oz. Second was 2lb 8oz.
I think i may get one or both of them mounted. I have a friend that is a taxidermist and he does fish. I was on the phone with him right away. 2 fish on one mount would look great, but at $10 an inch, that could add up pretty quick.
