GoreTex Gaiters Amazed!!

Where have you been all my life!!! I bought a set of Goretex Gaiters late last year thinking that they would be great to keep my pant legs dry on those dewy mornings. I can't wear rubber boots due to a bad ankle so I have no choice but to use leather. Man they work great. For trudging around in the mud, muck, snow, forging creeks over your boots it is so nice to take them off at the end of the day and have clean dry pants and boot laces.

The biggest perk though is my feet stay 10 times warmer wearing them. It absolutely seals off the top of your boot and there are no drafts going up your leg and you don't loose any heat out of your boot.

I guess I posted this for those either on the fence or the guys that have troubles with cold feet or don't like wet muddy pants and boot laces. These things are worth their weight in gold and just thought I would put that out there for anyone that may interested.

My buddies think they are ridiculous and make fun of me saying I am putting on my snake chaps but I tell yah what, if they only knew what they are missing....

Great tip. Do they really keep the water out, if you top out over your boot, in a river crossing? I hate rubber boots but on some setups a river crossing is required.

What brand did you buy?

Liv is dead on in his descriptions. If you put them on right, you will keep water out of your boots as long as you are not in over the top of the gaiters. I absolutely love them and need to get a new pair. Don't worry about what your friends say, Liv, those gaiters are AWESOME!!

I'm right with you Liv4rut with the gaiters. I have 2 pair of the OR crocodiles, i pair of sitka, and one pair of kenetrek...tough to beat, all are durable and reasonably quiet
