Got lucky -- or not

Got a doe last night. Had to rush as she came in fast. Must have torqued at the last minute. Hit her pretty far forward. She ran off. Went to where she was & no sign of her. Decided to give her a day to look any more. Oh yeah, was in my car!

Watch the roads guys and gals!

Last night, there were two vehicles parked on the west shoulder of Highway 1 a mile north of I80 and people out walking in the ditch. Wasn't you, was it?

About another mile or so up the road, I just missed hitting a 1.5 yr old buck that was crossing the highway at roughly 5:45 pm.

No, wasn't me. I was alone, stopped only to check my car to make sure it was ok to drive (luckily it was, just got fender and door panels), and then turned around to see if it was laying in the roadway, and then went on home. If I look when I drive by today, it will just be out of curiosity to see if it killed her. I'm guessing no as she hit the side of the car (due to me "torqueing".

I got a call for a car vs deer... I ended up taking home a 4.5 year old 8 that had his hip shattered. Have had a few close encounters already on the way to hunt.

6500 damage to my truck from a dandy this weekend. Near miss on the doe and before I could even hit the breaks he was on top of me. Didn't kill him that I could see (looked all over the field when it got light) but his rack sure trashed my front end.
