Well I have been spending most of today trying to get on New Mexico's website to find out if I drew a unit 15 muzzleloader tag. I have not been able to get in because of all of the traffic of who knows how many thousands of people all trying to get on at the same time. Meanwhile I decided to mess with my one and a half year old Canon mini-dv camcorder, and it won't load a tape. I have tried different tapes and different batteries and no dice. I was planning on taking it to Alaska with me in 10 weeks to video my moose hunt now I am sure I can't get it repaired and back in service by the time of the trip. It was FINE last time I used it and it has been sitting on a shelf ever since. I also have about $250 in a home made trail video camera I just built that works right less than half the time. Bottom line is I don't know if it is just my bad luck, but I sick of spending a bunch of money on pieces of junk. I am not even counting the half dozen trail cameras I have that don't work worth a dang either. My question is, how many of you guys ever feel like heading up in the mountains with a stick and string and leave all of this nonsense behind? I know this is kind of a random rant, but I am about one step from doing just that! It seems like all of the "advances" in technology are really just taking us backward.
