Gov. Branstad's Town Hall Meetings

I just got a call from Terry Haindfield reminding me of the town meetings coming up in the area. He's the Wildlife Management Biologist here in NE Iowa. He said it's very important for hunters to attend and let our voice be heard. He's hoping this will get some tv air time and the DNR's proposed changes will stick. He also said emails and calls help but this is the real deal. If we want to change Gov. Branstad's mind. Now's the time. We need to let him know how important wildlife is to us... I'll try to post the locations and dates again...

Thanks for posting Justin.

Is anyone planning on attending any of these? I will be in Cresco tonight at 5:30. There are a group of guys coming up from near Dubuque for the meeting, so don't use the " to far away" excuse. Gotta want it guys :way:

As Justin said, this is the real deal and a chance to meet face to face with the man who is opposing the DNR. They have not set an actual agenda for the meetings so I really hope they don't skirt this issue and talk about other things. Sometimes the way these meetings work is they talk for 55 minutes about off topic things and then give the public 5 minutes for input. I am truly hoping that is not how these go. May just have to interupt :D

Id be there but I work well past the time it starts...they should make them later in the day

Exactly these times stink. I'm hoping I can make it tomorrow morning. Just loose a few hours of pay I guess...

Just leave the store open and put a bucket on the counter for money. You know, like an honor system :D Waukon is full of trust worthy folks isn't it?

You better go, you're like the face of hunting in NE Iowa, he will listen to you :drink2:

hahaha I'll make it there somehow. It makes you realize how serious it is when the DNR Biologist is concerned...

It's not that place I'll be working. See I'm not as rich as you think. I'm working another job trying to get a little extra cash. They're good people though so I'm sure it's no big deal. Maybe I can get the two owners of the shop to come along. They're avid outdoorsmen.

I would love to attend one, but I work during those times and they are all a couple hour drive from me

They are holding one in all 99 counties. They have done 45 already, just have to pay attention. They aren't well advertised.

Never thought that. Just trying to make light of the fact that the
times suck for those that have a job.
Good luck on working two jobs? Never knew.

It will payoff in the long run.

Let us know how the meeting goes.
