GPS Units

I picked up a used Garmin Etrex off of ebay. This is the second unit like this I have had. (I ran the last one through the wash on accident and ruined it) The wife bought me a Garmin Dakota 20 for Fathers Day today. It looks like an awesome unit, but maybe way more than I need for deer hunting in Iowa. Any one familiar with these units enough to give an opinion? I mainly use the unit to get to some stand sites in the dark or out of them, or use it to mark promising looking spots in the public area I hunt to find easily without using trail tape.

Which etrex? Did you get a new or used one from ebay? I am also looking in to purchasing a handheld GPS unit and would welcome any insight offered up.
