We hadn't been seeing much, our little timber was surrounded by a sea of corn, that all changed last night and grandpa was glad it was gone. It was getting very tough to keep a 12 yr old upbeat when he wasn't seeing deer.
The wind was wrong for the stand so we cut some cedars and made him a ground blind.Worked like a charm.
It was very very cool to sit 20 yds behind Jordy and watch the whole thing play out. Very proud of him at the way he kept his cool when his first shot when low and how he nocked another arrow and promptly delivered a heart shot at 25 yds.
I've shot a lot of deer but never as nervous or excited as I was there unable to do anything but watch.
