I realize we're about to get into the summer here, and cold weather gear probably isn't on many of your minds, just curious to see if any of you have any of their bibs or coats. They're a little pricey, but they look nice and toasty warm.

I have a set of unlined wool jacket and pants from them in Predator Brown. Have had this set for 4 years now and its still in great shape. I dont think their prices are that bad if you compare other wool companies.

Also check out their closeouts they have once in awhile. Returned stuff that doesnt fit gets put on there and you can save yourself some money if you find what your looking for.

I was going to place my order sometime in the next day or so....after April 30, the prices go up on some of the selected items....not sure which ones tho. That was in the last news bulletin they sent me.

Well, I went ahead and ordered one of the unlined wool coats that they had on clearance, it just so happened it was my size perfectly. I've got to tell you guys, the customer service is absolutely wonderful. If you have any questions about their garments, give them a call, they're more than happy to explain everything to you.

I was looking at the site and just wondering what line of clothing/products you guys are ordering or have purchased. A lot to choose from here.

Outfitters line, wolfskin, jacket and bibs lined and insulated. I post back on quality when they get here.....that may be awhile??

I ordered one of the unlined wool jackets. Should be here in a day or two, I'll also give a report when it gets here.

I got my jacket and ended up returning it a week or so later. The jacket was very well made, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I think instead of the wool I'll probably end up trying some of their "Warp Knit" line of clothing. Either way, their customer service is one of the best I've dealt with. Seems like a smaller, customer oriented business.......those are hard to come by anymore.

I orginally purchased the wolfskin (insulated) bibs, parka and bomber hat back in 2000. I later added a insulated wolfskin vest and wool backpack (no longer available). All are of exceptional quality and the bibs & backpack are still on the "1st Team"

, but extremley warm. Unfortuantely, when the ear flaps are down I cannot get/feel my anchor point, so it is seldom used. The parka & vest I would love to wear....but I've added a few too many 'lbs.' since I purchased them

I would recommend the insulation and 3M windproof lining for all wolfskin garments for those hunting late into the fall here in Iowa. I would also buy your garments plenty big, so as to have room for layering.

When I first did business with GW I dealt with Marc, who I don't believe is with the company any longer. The last couple of times I've spoke with Jeff, who has been VERY helpful.

The only downside for me, was waiting...and waiting for the product to arrive, BUT they were certainly worth the wait!!!

A couple other things I wanted mention. For 'options', I had the bibs made with cargo pockets and a grunt call holder sewn onto the parka. The cargo pockets are located on the front of the thigh (because of the full-length side zippers), IMO not a good location for pockets while sitting in a treestand. As far as the grunt call holder...I've never used it once.

I have a second pair of wolfskin bibs with the slash/handwarmer pockets located on the chest. These have really come in handy and make me wish I had them on both pair of bibs.

They make some great stuff yo! You won't be disappointed. The wolfskin is the best fabric for what we do on the market. Dead quiet (regardless of temp), nearly waterproof (in extend down-pours), burr resistant, and as comfortable as fleece!

From what I could see, these are very well built garments...and heavy weight to say the least. If I get cold in these things, I had better hang it up outside. The Jacket fits good but I wish I had gotten the waist drawcord to tighten it up. It won't be a problem with the safety harness but just feels puffy in the gut area. I'll give it a two thumbs up

Drink more beer, that ought to snug it up!

Shredder,
How did you size the coat? If you sent "t-shirt" measurements, is there room for layering underneath?

I was fitted at a local store and they fitted me for a tux....It looks like I would have some room for layering.

If you guys have any questions about sizing, or anything else, just give Jeff a call at Gray Wolf. He's a great guy and will help you out with any questions you may have.

Shredder, you may be able to have him add the cord now? This is the time of season to get it done if you want any changes made eh! (Not sure if he can add it after the fact?)
