We had a great gun season in my party. I don't know what's better, the 3 day stag party and constant shenanigan's or the hunting.
Our group of 9 killed 7 deer opening day. 1 nice 8 point, 5 does, and the kid shot his first buck. We gave the DNR two heads to test for CWD...that process is very neat.
The only black eye on the weekend was opening morning. I had a run-in with some goose hunters who thought it would be a good idea to go out on opening morning of deer season 1) Without a single thread of orange 2) Travel up-river at daybreak laughing and hollering and 3) Set up on my family's private property...Why?
I hope those guys aren't still hiding in the weeds down there! They wouldn't come out when the cavalry showed up.
I hope everybody else had as much fun as I did this weekend. We made it a point to let the smaller bucks walk and hit the does as hard as possible. It was a fine group effort!
