Gun and Dog, Legislation.

Has anyone noticed that in the new proposed legislation, there is a fine imposed upon shooting dogs,,unless they are a threat to you ,or your livestock. Says nothing about chasing deer.Guess the DNR will have to change the advice they gave me about trsspassing /deer chasing dogs,,"Just shoot Em". Of coarse they may well keep saying that,{Off the Record}. Guess Dog owners that let their canines roam, have called the legislators more than the deer hunters?

I can't remember for sure becasue I've read so much proposed legislation lately it's getting hard to keep it all straight, but the proposed legislation I read differentiated between shooting dogs wearing collars and vaccination tags and those without. Maybe it was just collars.

It has to do with tagged dogs. I believe the Iowa State Coon hunter association is pushing it after 3 coon dogs were shot down in southern Iowa earlier this winter.

As far as I understand if the dog doesn't have any tags then the law is the same as before.
