Well I just got back from my weekend excursion to the turkey woods and I had an awesome time! Lots of turkeys, lots of wildlife in general, and one big tom down!
I was set up in an evening strutting zone on Friday afternoon and had gobblers investigating the scene bout as soon as I got settled in... managed to coax a couple of them in for a closer look and dropped the hammer on this hefty dude. I got up to him and realized he was a bit bigger than I thought, and was more than pleasantly surpised to see the hooks! 1 1/2 inches both sides. Overall, it was a great hunt, and I got to spend the rest of the weekend in the woods with another guy so it was definitely time well spent!
I managed to shoot off a chunk of his beard, but luckily just some of the thickness (A kill is a kill haha)
And I was hunting by myself on Friday so no field pictures with my ugly face in them.
