Hanging Stands???

I am interested in hearing when most of you guys & gals begin seriously hanging your stands for the upcoming season.... mainly the hardcore buck stands. I know some who try to hang them in the rain and others don't hang anything before early - mid October.....

I will hang mine the morning I hunt

I will start in late August. I have spots that are good because of terrain, I get those hung early so I'm not spending time in season. I don't do anything special, anymore I just like to wait for a nice cool morning or evening after a cold front comes through. Those stands won't get hunted til the first week in Nov.

Once I see how the mast is looking, I'll hang some more stands in September for some early season hunts.

The rest of my stands get hung based on in season sign and movement, many times I'll hang and hunt the same day.

I have 40 acres with four obvious travel corridors across my property. I have a fragile back so I have permanent ladder stands erected, one ground blind. If your land is used in an obvious way for travel, will the deer eventually chnages habits, or use the routes for yrs as long as nothing around changes. I have not owned the property very long. Thanks much for all your wisdom.

I like to get my stands hung and trimmed out in the summer around july and august. I also trim out a lot more stand sites I think i might be at later. I only like to hang a stand on the day I hunt if I know I have good shooting lanes otherwise I don't feel comfortable.

I will hang several stands this time of year and also hunt out of pretrimmed locations, hang as you hunt, with the LW Hang ons.

ANytime, but after watching an archery show tonight with Barry Wenzel I think they do a samrt thing with what they call observation stands.A stand put up not that they will hunt out of but just to get in and sit in the mornings or evenings before season to kind of pattern deer movement.I know a lot of poeple drive around looking but I think using this type of stand is someting I might have to try real soon........

This is just a question because I've never done it before and I've been out of the treestand bowhunting loop for a while...if you hang your stands the mornings you hunt, how do you do it quietly enough to not spook and deer that are in the area? I know it's possible but there has to be some kind of noise made while doing this?? Do you already have shooting lanes cut or do you just position your stands accordingly??

I will have around a dozen stands hung by next weekend. I see no reason to continue hanging a stand everytime I go hunt in an area that has proven itself through the years. I will/do use a lone wolf hang on and sticks and a lone wolf climber to hunt areas that are new to me or I will use them near a stand I already have hung but maybe need to move a little due to wind direction.

As for hanging stands in the dark. I don't usually due that unless it is in a tree that I am familiar with. As for quietness. The lone wolfs go on quiet if you take your time.
