Happy Swarovski Customer

I am not easy on equipment to say the least. About a month ago I went for a shed hunt and looked through my binoculars and they wouldn't focus. I was not happy as I use them constantly. I sent them in and received a call back asking what I did to them. I told her I used them like I always used them and the rep told me they had to be put through something rough to break what was broke. I admitted I am rough on them but use them to their fullest. She stated it was about a $150.00 repair but they were going to take care of it and I would see them in 3-4 weeks. They arrived today after only 1 week since I had talked to the rep and all is back to normal. So often you receive lousy customer service from vendors and I always like to give credit when they go above and beyond. Thanks Swarovski

CI, did you need to show any proof of purchase for that kind of service? I bought my Swaros second hand and I'd like to send them in for a check-up, cleaning, and have the little cap on the end of the barrel hinge replaced.

They didn't ask for any proof of purchase just have your model and serial number. The serial is on the bottom between the the tubes when you spread them apart Then call them and set up a service order number at 1-800-426-3089.

I have been happy with mine as well, my only gripe would be that for 1500$, it would be nice if they replaced the cheap rubber lens cover for free. Everytime(about once a year) I need them replaced it costs me about 25-30$. They definately could improve the lens cover design IMO. I also hate the rear plastic cover as it isn't very practical in the woods. Minor gripes, but I would like to be able to protect my glass a little better. I am hard on things sometimes.

I'm surprised that they don't have an unconditional, lifetime warranty. I don't own a pair but I just figured that as expensive as they are that they would have a better warranty.

Thanks for the info CI.
I gave up on my covers too, the objective covers always seemed to fall off anyway and, like DOR said, the hard plastic cover isnt very handy. I usually just stuff them in my stocking cap to protect them and put them in my pack for the hike in.
I kind of stole my 8.5x42 EL's for $600 with the hard case and 2x doubler. That was probably the best money I have ever spent on gear.

I would to. So far they have been great with their customer service though. This claim and another when I busted a eye cup were covered. They sent me a spare eye cup the first claim so that made me happy as well.

Eye cups are covered and they ship for free, I have replaced mine twice I think!
