This weekend marks the first leg of the Heartland Triple Crown 3D Tournament. The first leg is at Pidgeon Hill in St. Joseph Missouri this Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. Next weekend June 7 & 8 there will be one near Pella, Iowa hosted by Hickory Ridge Bowhunters and the Third Leg will be near Omaha, NE at Golden Arrow on June 21 & 22.
If you've never shot an IBO shoot before there is nothing to fear. They have about 30 available classes so every age, sex and shooting style is covered. Each leg has some beautiful awards and there will be awesome laser engraved plaques for the overall winners who shoot all three events. I know we see almost 50% of the shooters at the Iowa leg come from out of state so lets try to get more IOWA people there this year and show them how we shoot. Some real serious professional shooters show up but most are just backyard arrow slingers like the rest of us. The great thing about IBO is that they split the classes up so well, you only shoot against your chronies. Each class has its own maximum yardage so if you're not comfortable shooting 50 yards you might be able to choose a class with a maximum 25 or 35 yards.
Check out the Hickory Ridge Bowhunters Website for more details, contact information, and links to the other shoots.
Hope to see you all there!!!
