Hey guys i got a new cva optima for xmas and for all you CVA haters, the gun shoots excellent. hey i have a ? though. what do you do with a loaded gun after you hunt. do you shoot it take off breech and remove pellets, bullet. Can you just remove the primer and leave it if your going the next day?? im new at this so be nice. Thanks a lot for the help

I leave mine loaded with percussion cap removed. This way is legal to transport. I also leave the gun in a cool place,as in the truck or garage to avoid a big temp. change.
Good Luck

gundog. i bought 2 optimas for my kids last year. even though i'm a knight guy all the way i do like the optima. a nice shootin' gun that doesn't break the bank.

splitlimb does what most do. leave it in the cold and you shouldn't have a problem. after a week or so i get nervous and unload it and put in new powder. i just remove the breech plug and push everything out backwards.

CVA is the best bang for the buck out there! you get just as good a shootin' gun as any out there at a lot less price. IMO, although some may not agree, CVA ranks second to T/C

but anyways leave your gun loaded with the primer out of the gun, just make sure it don't sweat!

yeah i left it loaded after tonight but i brought it in the house. i plan on shooting tommorow night so i think itll be ok. thanks for the help guys!!

Moose Why not just shoot it?? Your doing a lot of extra work and waisting your powder?? Once you bring it in YOU gotta problem!! Temperature change= Moisture=Miss fire!!! When in doubt fire it off!!

I take it in the garage and remove the powder so the gun stays outside. Plus I don't have to clean the barrel. I guess I do waste a bit of powder but I look at it this way. I've wasted alot more money on spilled beer.........
