I saw your post over at the HIS forums, and was wondering what your handle is on here? I've been scratching my head about that LOL.

Kansan, I thought I had better log in myself, Lee doesn't like anyone to know who he is when he is on the net. But, he was right, I've talked with you here before!

Tiffany,

Hello there. I'm guessing that you probably read the post I started at huntinfo.com regarding your newfound, near "celebrity" status. First of all, I'd like to tell you in no way did I mean to attack YOU in any personal way. I did not mean to imply that you didn't know what you were doing in the woods, that you didn't know how to hang stands, or that sort of thing. The thread over there really got turned around. My main motive behind posting the thread was to show how better looking people get hired these days to represent companies and the like. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If I had a company I'd want to hire you too LOL. I also did not mean to imply you were only concerned with your looks or that you were not educated in the world of deer hunting.

If I came across in any way that was unappropriate, then I sincerely apologize. I really think it's GREAT that you have the passion for the outdoors like you do. My wife does as well, and I sure wish more ladies would do the same. We're all hunters, and we love to hunt. I wish you much luck in the future, and in all your hunting adventures. Hope to hear from you soon.

God Bless,
Jody H. - Kansas

Kansan,
You personally never said anything that offended me anyway. Some of the others maybe. That is what I like about coming on here (formerly anonymous) and talking with hunters when Lee is out of town and I can't get anyone on the phone. When people don't know that they are talking with a woman everything is great. I've never had anyone accuse me of not knowing anything about hunting, not being capable of putting up my own stands or even having a clue about where to put one when I am on here.

Our whole lives basically revolve around hunting, if Lee and I didn't talk about deer I don't know that we would even talk at all! Just kidding of course.

It is actually kind of fun reading peoples replies. Like Lee said, we have thick skin and as long as you are infected with the same disease that we call whitetail hunting, you're pretty cool in my book.

Where in Kansas do you live, we just bought a farm down there last year.

PS You caused quite a stir with that thread, I must have had fifty calls from everyone from Michael Wadell to Kandi Kisky to tell me how pissed they were! It amazes me how fast things travel!

Tiffany,

I live in northwest Kansas, north of Hays. Where abouts do you and Lee hunt in the state? I love whitetails and shed hunting, here's a link to a picture of my shed collection:

Also, I have a website called 'Extreme Trophy Whitetails' at

http://www.geocities.com/extreme_whitetailer

If you get a chance, I'd love to have you sign the guestbook. On the site is my #31 all-time P&Y typical I shot back in '95 when I was 20 years old. He scores 182 5/8 net typical, field dressed 266#, and has been featured in several magazines including North American Whitetail. I love to write outdoor stories and have written a few. I'm currently writing another article for North American Whitetail right now. Whitetails are definitely my passion. They are a very serious part of my life.

By the way - I went and deleted the post on HIS. Figured that was the right thing to do. Hope to hear from you when you have time.

Kansan,
Wow, looks like you have a few giants in that bunch! I almost thought that you were BSin me about the NW Kansas thing. We scouted the Republican res. a few years back and then headed south through the western side of KS. It didn't seem like we got into any real giant deer until we hit the Cimerron. Now that I look and see where Hays is I'm not surprised to see the collection that you have! Looks like you spend a lot of time in the timber! That buck you killed in 95 is awsome! Congratulations!

We bought a 1200 acre farm near Manhattan. Lee killed a 196 on it and I killed a 147 last year. This year we're hoping that it will be better yet. Pulled the cattle off and put in over 40 acres of food plots! Talk about a bunch of work!

Hey I used to live in Manhattan, and did a lot of hunting over there. I hunted within sight of where Dale Larson killed Dagger a few years ago and called in a monster 25 pointer for a friend.
It's also close to where the 300+" Kansas nontypical sheds were picked up back in the late '80s.

Keep me up to date on when you and Lee are around Manhattan ... perhaps the both of you along with my wife & myself could all meet up for lunch and discuss big deer. That would make for a nice time. E mail me if you get a chance! I'd love to keep in close contact with some more hardcore, dedicated whitetail buffs!!

Best wishes,
Jody
