Hey Limb Chicken!!

Or anyone else for that matter, where is the thread where Limb had pictures of how he packed his blind in and out with the badlands pack? I can't find it anywhere, any help would be appriciated!!

I’ll add my unsolicited 2¢. I found out the hard way to pack the skinny end down so the hubs are pointing at the ground. Otherwise the blind may slide out. By putting the skinny end down you are making a smaller hole at the bottom so the thicker top can’t slide through the bottom strap.

I found this out in the dark, in Kansas, a mile from the truck with the ‘yotes howlin and Vman carrying a dead turkey the ‘yotes could smell. Only good think is I learned from my mistake. My mistake was walking down wind of Vman and his dead turkey. Man, those things stink.

Bonker,

I understand your reasoning, but I pack mine just the opposite, with the hubs pointing up. Haven't had a problem with the blind slipping in the Badlands pack. Also, I can throw the decoy bag straps over the hubs and let it hang off the back.

Anyone else, hubs up or down?

Matt, You can still throw the decoy bag straps over with it packed the other way. Weasel used to pack it that way too but after it fell out twice and with me razzing him about it. He finally switched it up.

Nanny,
Check with Boyd. He will sell you a new one for damn near what you can buy a used one for...

I can see where that would be a plus, but young sturdy Mr. Vman was carying the decoys while old decrepit 'Bonker packed in the blind.

I'll flip it around later this later this week and see how it works.

I've probably got so much other stuff jammed around it that it's too wedged in to fall out! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

That wasn't the turkey...trust me, that dude's got intestinal issues!!!

Just picked up a new double bull this year. After carrying it in a couple of times to hunt by hand, I was looking for a pack. The Badlands is awesome. I went from having my hands full of trying to carry in stuff to just carrying my bow. Actually picked it up on ebay for $110. Would highly recommend it. I went back and looked at Limb's picture of how he packed it and I load mine the same way and have had no trouble with it sliding.

All this talk about packing blinds and the reccomendations on Badlands 2200 made me check them out online last night. Scored a brand new 2200 for $140 shipped last night, after looking at these I can't believe I have waited this long to get one and can't wait for the package in the mail.

With the blind strapped on the outside of the pack are you still able to get stuff inside the pack to carry or does it constrict the holding area inside to much?

Jethro, Yes you can still get in the pack with the blind on. There is only 1 pocket that is blocked when the blind is on. Stop by and take a look at mine. It has to be the best thing i have bought for hunting in the last 5 years! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I have the Badlands, but I just plan on making my brother carry it /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif.

You can access the pack from the side that is against your back. It unzips and you can get to anything inside your pack. The pouches on the "wings" that will be next to the blind when it is strapped in will be a little problematic.
