Hickory Ridge Bowhunters is proud to host the first leg of the Heartland Triple Crown IBO World Qualifier 3D shoot next weekend on May 21 & 22. If you've never been to one of these shoots you should try it. About half of the shooters are from out of state. Double scoring and squadding of shooters eliminate "pencil pushers" winning unfairly. This is a different "national level" type of shoot. There are 29 IBO classes to really differentiate between equipment types and ages. This means lots of trophies and a better chance of winning! Plus, if you place in the top 20 in your class, you get an invitation from the IBO to attend the IBO World 3D shoot. (Kind of makes you feel special

) We also offer non-competitive classes and even let kids 8 and under shoot competitively for free

Is Hickory open at other times? I take my son once and a while to Stuart and Panora, and would love a new place to go. Just curious. Thanks.
 
there is a course in afton that is open everyday, on the honor system. i believe pella is only set up on shoot weekends
 
We have 4 shoots a year (May, June, July, and August) Dates and times are listed on our website. We hear lots of positive comments from shooters that love our course, come check it out sometime!

PS - the lake is coming up so the course looks real neat. Water visible behind lots of the targets (behind the backstops of course)

Where in Afton is the archery range? Is it well done? I would assume it's similar to some of the others. I've been to Panora and Stuart (both are fun to shoot). Just curious. Some of the guys I shoot with were asking if I could round up another place to try out.
