High Hopes

Well it was a sad day. I went and took down my stands from my old honey hole. I'm still bitter about losing my spot but I guess unless I win the lottery so I can afford to spend money on a lawyer over a hunting spot I will move on.

I scored on some ground miles from my old spot. Where I shouldn't have to worry about anybody bothering me or me bothering anybody else. My chances of taking a big buck are alot smaller but there are some big ones spotted every year. It should be alot more fun not having the neighbor worring if I shot one of his deer or not.

Its funny how you can get so attached to a spot. It was kinda like someone stealing my dog and not being able to do anything about it.

I empathize with your loss. I have a honey hole I've had to myself for 15 years but this could be the last. The landowner has sold the farm house & now they're out there doing perk & probes in one of the fields next to my favorite stand. I guess the only thing I can do is be grateful for 15 years of great hunting priveleges that my son & I had to ourselves. It will be a sad day when the rest of the farm gets sold but I have many fantastic memories that no one can take. Good luck at your new spot!

Thanks. I thanked the people that let me hunt for the eight years I had it. I could tell they felt bad but what can you do?
