A friend just sent me the following link to video footage of helicopter gunning (not really hunting) for hogs as part of the eradication program. Wow! I know what I want to do next.
My pre-video link anti-hog diatribe: With the known HUGE problem these things are, I don't get why there are ranchers in Texas that will charge people $500-$700/weekend to shoot a couple of hogs (not regulated by the state; i.e. no limit). And then there are ranchers surround my brother-in-law that have approached him to trap hogs on his ranch and pay him a set $ amount per pig per size class. Ok, I get it: $$. :thrwrck: I LOVE that my BIL and a couple of other ranch owner friends tell me and my friends that hogs are free and take as many as we want. Darn good eating!!!
Ok, I'll step down off my soapbox and present the link to the video. In the original email sent to me, it describes the gunner having an optics system mounted to his helmet to help aim the rifle (sort of like an Apache's system, but not that high-tech or classified). Its a 22 minute video and I only made it through the first 5 minutes before I had to get back to work (and post it here for you all to enjoy). Enjoy! :way:
