In the pinned post above homebrew 101, using the upper end camera, what is the total cost to make the trailcam. Is it really worth making your own with all the cameras on the market right now??

Yes. Faster shutter times. Smaller cases.

The last camera I put together cost around $150. It is an IR with a Bigfoot board, P32 and a Pelican 1060 case. I think this is a top quality setup and I can fix it if it breaks. I am sure it isn't for everyone but I will not be buying any anytime soon if I can make my own.
