Hope I'm not too old to be new

Hello all, I am new to IW, new to archery, new to hunting, but I am 35 years old. I became interested in hunting about a year ago, while thinking about things that would be good to do with my 3 young boys as they grow up. I never hunted with my father growing up and I hope that is somthing I can change with my boys. I caught the bowhunting bug and have spent the last 10 months practicing and getting set up with equipment. I have a lot to learn but am excited about the journey. I have a lot of respect for what you all do and hope one day to join your ranks.

But I'm 35 years old too!

Welcome to the site and to the site, ask any questions you want, we'll do our best to answer them. Lots of us in the CR area.

Welcome to the site! 35 is pretty young still I'd say. So, no you're not to old! Way to go with wanting to do something with you boys. Whether its hunting or anything else, that's good stuff!

Welcome!! Good thing you are teaching your boys to hunt, now you will not have to hunt for your boys!!!

my dad is just over 50 and has shotgun hunted deer for 30 some years but last year i talked him into buying a bow and trying it out...he rattled in and shot decent buck last year and now is hooked!!

You've come to the right place :way: Good luck this fall, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

welcome... no matter how young/old you are, you will learn something new just about everytime out.. just when you think you've got em beat, they'll prove you wrong 9 times out of 10. good luck

Welcome to the brotherhood. There is a club there in CR who have their range in Toddville. It's a haul from up here but we've made the trip and like the course. You and your boys can benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience of those in the club. They have a camping area there as well which provides for a great family atmosphere. Most likely they'll have a winter league for you all to hob-nob, get intimate with your equipment and practice. It is an absolute to learn how to shoot your bow well. Learn to shoot well...then learn how to hunt well. Confidence in the use of your gear and equipment will go a long way in your success and enjoyment. Best wishes and may the scent of burning leaves in the fall be with you always.

Alot of people give me crap for spending countless hours in the stand....needless to say they dont bowhunt!

Welcome to the site!

Welcome!! Hunting and being outdoors with your boys is as good as it gets. You've made a great choice and I wish you good luck. If I could only tell one word of advice it would be patients.
