Horizontal Rubbing Post

I know this was brought up in the post from Whitetail's Inc., but I thought I'd try building one of these bad boys this weekend and put them up before they started losing all their velvet.

Has anyone had any documented success with them (trail cams/videos) besides the guy (Godfather?) in the video? That thing was awesome....I think it comes down to the deer being lazy and not wanting to turn their heads sideways? Same thing with corn...they'd rather eat it off the ground instead of turning their head to pick it off the stalk...

Any thoughts on this??

In your opinion would that little piece of rope work for making scrapes??

Does it have to be cedar going across??

I think I'll put a cam on one just to see if it works...(Todd hope it's OK I snapped a still of the video for reference...if not I'll take it down).

I have never tried it, but I will confess that after seeing that on the video I was planning on making a setup just like it. My sense is that it would be used pretty well. I was planning on using a cedar log for the horizontal piece too.

Did he scent the rope or just hang it "dry"?
