How does heat affect seed?

Planted some Rape and Radish last Sat. Does seed sitting in the hot soil hurt it, waiting for rain? Looks like a L-o-n-g wait! Again too.

I'm no expert but I'd say it has no effect at all.

Well I hope so,, Upper 90s the next two days will definitely be Cooking, everything! Especially the corn that's up

I think the seed will be fine, but birds may pick some it up.

It should be a decent weekend to get some seed put in the ground here in the Muscatine area. Calling for rain for several days....finally

Don't be so sure about the rain. Depending on who you listen to, the forecasts are all over the place. Some say only 20 to 30%coverage. Some say this huge pressure block will dominate the rest of the summer, like last year. Seed may sit a long time. I planted last Aug and did not have any plants up until beginning of Oct!

My plantings got 2 inches Sunday. Sadly,,as I drove north less and less and from Pella North, toDes- next to zilch. Feel for the farmers. Maybe this week
