How Far Is Too Far

Wow, it would take a family of tree rats all year to eat one side.

That drop tine buck in the third pic is awesome.

I'll let you guys voice your opinions on this & I'll decline on that BUT... Keep in mind.... Almost EVERYTHING we have in our lives now is genetically modified or altered. For good or for bad & yes, $ plays into all of this too.... Cows, seed corn, chickens, fish, grass in your lawn, your garden seed, most of ingredients of food has something modified, (heck, human sperm-banks are in a sense: selective breeding), etc. Good or bad, it's just in everything and whitetail selective breeding, etc shouldn't be a big shocker like's it's some crazy thing we humans have done with one thing.
And yeah, holy crap that buck is crazy looking, WHOA! Thankfully I'm content as anything getting a crack at a mature wild buck no matter the score!

Crazy buck, but shooting that deer would not be the same as shooting a deer that might score 1/3 of that. When I shoot a nice buck I feel amazing knowing that all the hard work to even see that buck was planned right.

I'll bite. Since when is it Outdoor Life's business to cover deer farming. I thought they were a hunting mag. The Enquirer buy them? Two different things. Deer farming and hunting wild whitetail. Wow what a buck.

Not a fan of deer farms. Do you guys gush over those fake deer heads they have hanging in Scheels and Sportsmans Warehouse?

I can only think of one thing (well two) where fakes are better than the real thing. :drink1:

Outdoor life was good back in about 1970-ish!! Now like alot of mags....they print the same articles about the same subject almost to the month each year! :thrwrck:

I really don't have much an opinion as it is an industry that thus far has not affected me at all.

I think the buck looks silly.

Gay all day IMO! You would have to be real dense in the head to
go on a "shoot" for one of these bucks in a high fence and get any
gratifacation from it.

One of my good friend's uncle grew that 1st deer, Ballistic. Though I don't agree with it, it's certainly a site to see.

I forwarded to article to him, and he's saying Outdoor Life is being very hypocritical. The magazine has put a number of his bucks on the cover of their magazine, but then turned around to essentially slander him. Though he didn't use the name "Wild Rivers Whitetails", a simple google search of the buck's name would allow any reader to connect the dots.

I've been in the lodge, and they've framed all of the magazine covers their deer have been on. You can assume that any live deer picture you see in a magazine is a fake deer.
