I've noticed a few posts of indian artifacts on here from time to time. Good hard rain and I'll be heading for freshly plowed fields. I would like to see some pics of your collections.
That's nice. I have just started, found an arrow in a creekbed and have started a new interest. Can't wait to take the kids down the creeks in July and look for more.
I have a few arrowheads and 1 prehistoric scraper. I have an aunt and uncle who's farm is called "Flinthill Farms". We used to find a lot of peices after they plowed in the spring.
We have just started in the last few years. We have 2 spear heads,1 arrow head, and a couple of rocks with holes ground into them like they may have been used to grind in.We would like to hear any pointers as to ways to find more as all my kids really enjoy looking with me.
OA
I've been collecting "rocks" since the spring of '91. I had a friend who took me out and after finding my first I was hooked for life. It's damn near as addicting as deer/turkey/shed/morel hunting if some of you "addicts" know what I mean. It really does help if you have someone who knows what to look for when getting started. Otherwise you can spend a lot of precious time just looking for a place that may have been a campsite. It's kind of like shed hunting...... soon you begin to recognize places that look promising.
I do, have artifacts that I have found in Wyoming, Montanta, Nevada, and Iowa. Has anyone ever found a flint chipped fishhook? Please let me know if you have found one please.
Blake, I know someone that has one of those flint fishhooks you were inquireing about. Neat little pieces of work. Not sure where he found it but know it is something special to him......
