how many of you guys..........

i was wondering how many of you guys, leave your quiver on or take it off when you deerhunt. i always take mine off, because when i shoot in the off season i always have it off. and when i keep it on while hunting, it seems that the arrows seem to get in the way when im manuevering around the tree. i also feel i shoot better with it off. so i was just wondering what you guys do?

for turkey I take it off. For deer in a stand I leave it on. I think just the little extra weight helps me stay more stable. I practice with it on right before deer season so I get used to it. That and make sure their is no noise. Also I like to have a second arrow very close - just in case. I almost got a second arrow in the buck I killed two years ago. I shot him at 40 yards and the arrow zipped through him and skipped off a log. He heard that and ran 20 - 25 yards right at me. I grabbed another arrow and when I knocked it he heard it and looked up at me. If I would have had the quiver on the tree I never would have gotten arrow #2 out of it. Needless to say I didn't get the second shot into him, but I did see him go down.

I usually take mine off in the stand. I practice w/out it and it seems that my bow is a little quieter when (or if) I shoot.

Leave mine on. Helps to stabalize the bow.

I use the Catquiver 3, backpack and quiver in one. I could never get used to having a quiver on my bows, just don't like the added weight and mass. When I'm on stand I hang the Catquiver at shoulders height and have all my gear including arrows at hands reach. If I'm wearing it while hunting on the ground, the arrows are easily reachable. It is a very versitile product.

I take it off. Kwikee quiver attached to the tree. I think Rackaddict helped me out with this one.

I leave mine on. I use a hoyt 2 pice which is rigid and makes little noise. I got tired of retrieving my quiver from the ground when I took it off and hung it in the tree.

Hoyt 2 piece here as well. The important thing is to practice with the same set-up as you will be hunting with.

I take it off. Makes the bow more maneuverable, but more importantly, I usually sit in my stands and rest my bow on my lap. Its not comfortable when the quiver is on. Also, the weight of the bow and my arm on the bow causes the arrow fletchings to compress together and that makes a little noise. Taking the quiver off helps to eliminate that.

another vote for the Cat-Quiver.....although mine is made by Vista. I take it and strap it to the tree while in the stand.

I take mine off. I usually have my quiver set in such a way that i have one loose arrow that can be easily grabbed(quietly)if a second shot would be presented.

I leave mine on. Also practice with it on. I've gotten so used to it, it seems like it's just part of the bow.

I use a hip quiver that i modified into a back quiver.I used to have problems with the broadheads dulling down from taking the arrows in and out.I switched to one of the pop open jobs with the o rings and dont have the problem any more.
I just hang it on a screw in bow hanger and it is right handy in the tree.
The one advantage of using a quiver attached to the bow is you wont get back to the truck and find out your quiver is still hanging in the tree.

I take mine off once I get up in my stand, and attach it to my backpack strap which is strapped around the tree. I figure that its one less thing to draw attention to the eyesight of that deer underneath me. I don't practice shoot with it on anyway.

off unless i get caught with my pants down and then i have no problems shooting with it on. last few deer i've shot i was getting ready to leave and had the quiver on and then got 'surprised' and had to make due with the quiver on. am considering trying a 2 piece quiver.

ghosty, that 2 piece works out well for ya??

What quiver? You only need one arrow.

When I used a bow quiver it stayed on the bow.

Now I hang my back quiver beside me since I have judos and BH's mixed in it, I want to make sure of what I grab.
