A lot of that depends on your setup.. Do you have a digital, or 35mm? If you have a digital, and the battery life is pretty long, I would wait at least a week in-between checks.. sometimes a month wouldn't hurt. The less pressure you put on an area from going in and out to check your cams, the better. If you are using 35mm, 24 pictures could happen over night. It also depends on where you put it. If you put it over a regularly used mineral lick.. you will get a lot of pics fast. If you put it on a trail, the camera wont fill up quite as fast.

here is my setup on stuff. If I have the cam set up on a mineral lick then usually 2 weeks. If I have it on a trail or in the open usually leave it for 3-4 weeks. That way you can get the same deer 3-4 different times on your camera to get different angels of the deer.

check it the day the before the batteries go dead. you don't want to be in there too often, but you don't want to miss any pictures. 6-volt batteries may last 1-2 weeks, D-cell batteries longer, maybe 3 1/2 to 4 weeks. Those are also depending on type of camera and setup. If you put ur camera on burst mode (2-3 pics at a time) the batteries won't last as long.

There's about a 95% chance that you'll be checking it in about a week due to the kid in the candy store effect. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I usually start out checking mine every week because of the aforementioned issue and then ease into a more manageable 2-3 week timeframe. 3 weeks is about all I can get out of my rechargeable AA's for the Sonys. Plus I start to get a little tired and gas poor running 6 cams. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

i check mine weekly and i still get lots of big buck pics, don't be afraid to check it,i have had times were it took a pic of a good buck 2-3 hours after i checked it.
