OK, so I'm as new to plotting as it gets. Just got my soil test results back, and the first question that I have is how to figure out how much lime I should be applying. My plan is to probably just go with clovers (at least to start), and to follow dbltree's clover mix. I've got 2 small plots. The numbers came back as follows:

PLOT 1 (1 acre):
PH - 5.6
Phosphorus - 9 lbs/a
Potassium - 84 lbs/a
Calcium - 2582 lbs/a
Magnesium- 285 lbs/a

The Effective Neutralizing Material (ENM) for PLOT 1 was 710

PLOT 2 (3 acres):
PH - 4.2
Phosphorus - 2 lbs/a
Potassium - 96 lbs/a
Calcium - 1495 lbs/a
Magnesium- 385 lbs/a

The Effective Neutralizing Material (ENM) for PLOT 2 was 2675

So, question one is just how much lime is needed for each plot. The report says to divide the ENM number by the guarantee of my limestone dealer. What is a "ballpark" number to use to calculate lime requirements. (I'm in Central MO).

Thanks!

Steve
