How was your early ML season?

Mine was a tough year mostly due to weather and maybe a case of buck fever I can't seem to get rid of.

It didn't take long to figure out the mature deer were moving late, really late. The mild temps, plus the rain and wind seemed to keep them from sticking thier nose out. I did have a chance on a booner the 1st Sunday late. I thought is was a slam dunk at 60 yards. Could not find any sign of a hit that night and the next day I walked 3.5 hours looking. On thursday I bumped him from a bed and he was slightly favoring a front leg. At least he's not laying dead somewhere. I checked my gun. Good. I thought my best chance would be close to the beds. Saturday morning I was in the right spot with another Boone class deer heading my way. At 50 yards he got put on high alert by a bunch of does below me who saw me move the gun into postion. He bolted downhill but did stop at 88 yards (ranged later) and I cleanly missed him too. I shot both my guns later and both are 3 inches high at 50 yards. It definetly was a tough season. I hope bow season goes goodeer than this.

It was tough for me too. I saw one 150+ deer that busted me when I was climbing into my tree.I think there is too much corn still in.The weather wasn't favorable also.I think the best bet right now is to catch buck coming from feeding areas to bedding areas.Hopefully cooler temps and picked corn will get some big boys moving.

I had a rough one also. Tried to focus all efforts on getting my son a deer but with the wifes change of plans and 20 other things that came up, we only got out a few times.

My started out at an all time low not being able to find a buck I shot, to shooting a nice buck Saturday night.

Very slow here, Ate my tag. Only really saw does. Most of the movement I saw was very late or early and then it was dead.

Weather was really weird this year but we were kinda shocked at the good hunting we had. First day I had a monster 8/10 with just incredible mass come in on me through some very thick stuff, never got a shot off. But later got a nice sized oddball 7pt. We hunt mainly for meat, butchered 74 lbs out of him.

My dad ended up filling both his tags, so did I and my brother in law filled all 4. We've got some good hunting grounds, all public too.
