Hunting Blind

Blaster

PMA Member
I'm thinking of buying a hunting blind for turkey hunting this year and want to know what kind to get. I know alot of you use the Double Bull blinds, but they seem a little expensive to me?

Bite the bullet Blaster...you won't regret getting a Double Bull!

I would definately agree, it is a tough initial investment but they have a lifetime warranty that is upheld like very few companies I have seen. You will not be disappointed and will use it alot more than you think. Makes a grea ice fishing tent as well.

Definatley buy a Double Bull. Every single person that I know who has had a problem, has had it corrected for free, with no questions asked. They are top of the line, nobody compares!!!!!!

Awesome company to deal with. Talk with Gunrnr from this site he will set you up good with a great price.

Double Bull is a pretty good investment, especially if you have kids. Nice pic Ghost.

Yah, just tell the wife its a "family" investment. Or use the catch phrase "qaulity time" when presenting her with the idea or just order it (like I do) and say something like "wander why that came here honey?" when it arrives.

Same day set-up, used the stake strings to attach the limbs. Passed a great buck that came into 30 yards and finally caught our wind but presented a shot before he skidaddled... We had several deer never look at it.

Limb and others-

Have any of you had a chance to hunt out of both the Matrix and the BS5? What are your thoughts if you had to compare the two?

I own both. They both have positive and negitave. Vision is much better out of the Matrix but there is also a better chance of getting picked off. The windows in the back of the matrix are too short for me to get a shot out of... found that out last year hunting those blasted black longbeards.

The BS5 can also have great visibility with the curtain up and it has windows that are the right height... If you need to drop the curtain and shoot out of the back.

I like both DOR... there how was that. Buy both!

The problem with having both is you can never decide on which one to take. I always say I am going to leave one in the woods but when it come right down to it I just can't leave that kind of money sitting out there... Maybe I need to buy another one...

Yah, I here you Limb, left my BS5 out a couple of times during late season and it was crushed down with snow both times anyway! I wish the deer didn't require so much brushing in to get it past them.

I just this past month bit the bullet and bought the DB Matrix. WOW! Don't know how I ever got by without it. Would never go back to the cheapies. It's just like DOR said it's a family investment, which is one reason I bought it with the yougnins tagging along with me. Besides you've got a little one not to many years out also.

I upgraded from the BS5 to the Matrix and don't like the visibity issue Limb mentioned at all. I got picked off a couple of time last turkey season in the Matrix. I think I'd go backwards if I could and stick with the BS5.

Interesting thread - I purchased a BS5 and w/i a couple of months they announced the matrix. I have had buyers remorse ever since thinking I should have waited for the matrix (due to all the great reviews). Based on some your experiences with the matrix I'm a little happier about having my BS5.

This summer I bought a carbon venture (??) safari system blind to leave out in the woods as I was worried about theft. Not only was it noisier setting up but the first time packing it out a couple of weeks ago the backpack straps ripped out of the carry case, the Velcro windows sucked, and it is a lot heavier than my BS5. I should have saved the money and bought another DB.

I have the Import5. If it just had 1 opening that was a little wider, keep the height, then it would be perfect. It seems I always have the animals hang up just before they hit the full opening. I had a freind sit in a matrix 150 yards away from me this spring and it seemed the turkeys were always a little leary of going around his blind.
