Hunting Elk in Colorado

Finally, it's been 5 years since I have been able to Elk hunt. I used to hunt elk in Utah during rifle season, now this fall I'm going after em' with the trusty Havoc. I've killed elk before but during cow only hunts, this fall will be an any sex hunt. I'm pumped.

I'll be heading up to Colorado with my Dad and a few friends. We are in the middle of choosing our destination. We want to hunt public land and we want this hunt to be unguided. Advice on a good location would be much appreciated!!!

have hunted many times. about twenty miles north of craig, it is a great place lots of land for public use. maybe i will run into ya. i think you can still buy tags otc around there. good luck

I have bowhunted colorado the last 2 years and have been going down by the gunnison area. It is a good area and a lot of public. good luck
