Are you allowed to hunt on sunday in Iowa? I looked through the DNR web site but didn't see anything saying if you could or couldn't. Were i live, TN allows it but 5 miles up the road in VA, they don't.

As long as the season is open you can hunt on Sunday all day!

Thanks guys!! Actually it's good that one state doesn't and the other does. I usually hunt VA with dad on Saturday, then hunt Sun in TN with my buddy. works out real good for everyone.

I just heard that this weekend about Canada, one of my buddies went bear hunting with some friends and one of the guys was shooting muzzleloader so he had to sit out one day while the rest of them went bowhunting . He told me it's illegal to even shoot a gun on Sunday Target practice or anything

I believe in God and give thanks for my many blessings often.....but I sure don't understand the thinking that wouldn't allow someone to hunt on Sundays.

Amen to that! Worship is about an attitude of the heart, not about where it takes place. I'm in church every Sunday that I possibly can be, but that doesn't stop me from going out hunting on Sunday afternoons during the seasons. I'm glad we don't have a law like that here in Nebraska.

Banning hunting of Sunday isn't going to force more hunters to observe a "day of rest". So long as people give God the proper place He deserves in their hearts, minds, and lives, I certainly don't think He looks down upon those who pursue game on a Sunday.
 
true story here! i used to live beside a preacher with mom and dad a few years back before sunday hunting was allowed here, and he was the coolest preacher i ever met. but the funny thing about him was he used to set in his backyard every sunday afternoon and pick-off ground hogs. one day my dad and i went over to shoot with him and my dad said to the preacher "hey you do know that sunday hunting is not allowed around here yet, don't you?" and i'll never forget what this preacher said "THAT GROUNDHOG OUT THERE HAS NO IDEA WHAT DAY IT IS"..............how true that phrase is. sunday hunting rocks!

If it was illegal here there would have been about a ten year stretch in my life that I wouldn't have been able to hunt at all. With my old job I worked late all week and until at leat 4:00 on saturdays. That would have sucked.
 
i hunt on unday cuz i dont go to chruch, but i still believe in god

Baggin Bucks, I don't think it is illegal to shoot a gun here on Sundays, that's when i target shoot, maybe other parts of Canada. It must have been a different province as even Sunday bowhunting isn't allowed here but it is elsewhere. Like Split G3, my nearest neighbour is a preacher, he's tucked right into the forest and I know he isn't afraid to take a poke at a bear any day, even Sunday, open season or not, no hunting Sunday is rediclulous.
