Hunting Pressure

Since this is the time of the year when all the legistlation comes to a head and everyone is tossing ideas around, I thought this might be an interesting topic.

How have the extended seasons and liberal isssuance of doe tags affected your hunting areas?

Personally In the areas I hunt there was a dramatic INCREASE in the amount of hunters during every season. I had the worst season to this date during my late season hunts due to hunting pressure. All of the hunters filling doe tags sent the deer into a nocturnal mode that I couldn't crack. I saw 1 mature buck during late season and couldn't get a shot.

I'm not really interested in what you killed as far as deer are concerned but rather the pressure/competition you encountered.

Hunted late muzzle in Northwest and Central on private land and didn't really have any direct competition. I did see more guys out and about (on the roads) in hunter orange. But as far as the deer behavior, I didn't really notice much change in habit ... they didn't seem any spookier than normal after the shotgun seasons. Filled two tags in a combined total of six hours in the field.
