Hunting strategies during droughts

Been one of the driest summers I can remember. Very few deer pics, no acorns to speak of, no apples or pears this year and haven't had to mow for a month now. Springs barely running. There is a decent crop of corn and beans, and I presume the mature buck are staying in the corn. There are two small streams that are the only water source.

Other than hunting near water sources, I can't think of any other strategies at his point. Any other strategy suggestions? Right now, I don't plan hunting until the end of October. Hopefully the weather changes before then.

I’d sit by the creek or dig in one of these somewhere & fill it up . I had 6 deer go in & get a drink last evening in MN …

Have some rye on hand to broadcast just before the rain when I finally happens anything green will be a major draw!

There are most definitely way better hunters than me here but I have always had success being on the river.. I’m totally blessed with a piece of public hunting/river bottom right behind my house but I think that is key.. get there. The bucks wil come! In low moisture years everyone I know has had success being close to the limited water sources that were around.
