Hunting Superstitions?????

here's one that maybe we can all have fun with, some may have one same may not. anyways, i was just wondering if ya'll had a crazy superstition before you go hunting, it doesn't even have to be superstition, it could even be a certain ruetein that ya'll might go through before every hunt.

i myself have 3 things i do before every hunt. the first thing i do is when i am getting ready and packing my hunting pack, i always crack the rattling antlers together once and then slip them into the pack. the second thing i must do is(as stupid as this one is) i always lick one of my replaceable blades on the broadhead(of course i lick it upwars on the side of the blade) of the arrow i choose to use(yes that is really stupid and dumb and yes i have cut my tongue a couple times, but i still do it and i don't know why). the third thing i always do is when i step out of the truck i shut the door quietly and look into the drivers side window at my glare and say "wish me luck". stupid? yes i know!!!

no matter how hard i have tried to kick these habits i can't. and yes, i probably shouldn't have told any of you this, so let the ribbing begin!!!!

i've got a good sense of humor, i can take it! anyways, let's here some of yours, so maybe i won't look so stupid.

No Jokes, I ALWAYS leave my knife in my truck. I figure if I take it with me, its one more thing to carry that I have to keep track of. Yes I have put on extra miles because of this, but hey, What are superstitions for?

It worked today! Only had to walk 400 yards back (down hill) to get the knife. And 400 back ( up hill) to the deer, and......... you know the rest. It works for me.

saskguy, the last thing i load in my pack is my rattling antlers, which are in the building, so i do it outside! you're right, if i did it inside she would hang me by my you know whats!

I do have a superstition, and many of you will think I am crazy when you read this thread. For those of you that have been on this site for a while and have read some of my other threads you should have already known that my thoughts are impaired at times.

Here goes.
For many years now I have noticed that when I hunt a ground blind or tree stand that if a Cooper’s Hawk lands on a branch close to my set up I will see NO deer. To date, with out fail I will see NO deer. Now I think that this bird is very pretty and does have a place in the eco system. But it is suppose to eat song birds not psych me out.
