Hunting water source

I should have tried sooner, but have a water hole that deer are hitting hard. Would put up a trail cam but its on Public land(may grow legs).
What is your experience with time that deer water Morning,Afternoon,Evening, or at night???

If I ever sit over a lone water source it would have to be all day. Because they can come of course in the morning or night but I have heard of so many sightings in the middle of the day with alot of big boys being killed at this time. Especially during the chase phase.
