.... and she said yes!
Well... there's gonna be a hitchin. The walk across the bean field to our buddy stand last night was probably the most nerve-racking moments of my life. I had a million things going through my mind all of them surrounding four little words. "Will you marry me?
I always told her I would never get down on one knee. Usually I climb into the stand first, but this time I let her go first. So after she got into the stand and put her bow on the hook I climbed the ladder and handed her my stuff. As Dana was hanging my bow, I remained standing on the ladder at her feet fumbling through my pocket trying to find that little felt box. Once she turned around and got seated, I gave her my hand, pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me. By the time she realized what was going on, I realized we wouldn't be seeing any deer because her parents could probably hear her at the house 1/4 mile away! Needless to say, we did not see any deer last night, but it will still be the most memorable hunt of my life!
