I finally got a chance to go out this morning, and with in 20 minutes I was on a bird. I hit the call and to my surprise he gobbled within 80 yards of me! I did not have time to get ready, so I sat at the first tree I found, and when he came out he saw me right away
. We cant use blinds here in Maryland I quickly circled around him and called and he instantly responded he held up for about 30 minutes and finally came in, I could see that his beard was at least 10". He strutted right in and stopped 22 yards in full strut. I let my arrow fly and I heard a PUFF as my arrow flew though him. He ran about 60 yards and I quickly hit the call to try to stop him, to my surprise he gobbled that when I knew something was up. I worked him for another 45 minutes until he was to far then I went to see what happened. At 22 yard I found five feathers cut by the broad head and then I found my arrow, with no blood! I guess the lesson I learned was that a turkeys vitals in full strut can be might deceiving. Anyway next Saturday is another day
