Here is a list of all the events going on at the Iowa Bowhunters Association's 2nd Leg of the Shoot-Out. We are proud to announce that Iowawhitetail.com will be the main sponsor of the Novelty Shoots. We will be giving away a three day hog hunt in Texas, a PMA membership, I.W. arrow wraps, and other merchandise.

Hosted by the Mid-Iowa Archers
Located at the Indianola Warren Co. Izzak Walton League, 3.5 miles south of Indianola off Hwy 65/69.

40 target 3D course, open to all classes and ages. Medals and trophies will be given to the top three places in all classes.

2 novelty shoots, giving away a 3 day hog hunt, pma membership, arrowwraps, a box of carbon arrows, a limb saver prize pack, and merchandise.

The Mid Iowa Archers will have Central Iowa Archery, Tackle Shack, Outdoor Dan, Richard Bishop (head of the DNR), with the state DNR biologists, DNR conservation Officers, the Iowa Bowhunters Association, Mid Iowa Archers, Delta Industries, QDMA and ISAA have been invited also.

On Sunday - Muzzy Broadheads will be on hand showcasing their new products and they will have their "Muzzy Be Quick" timed 3D Challenge. Cost for this is $5.00, and they have some awesome prizes to give away.

They will be serving great food all weekend, and they have a very nice 3D course to shoot with a 16 foot tower and ground pit to shoot from. The Mid Iowa Archers also have a ongoing raffle for a Antelope Hunt with Cowboy Country Outfitters in South Dakota. This is a top notch hunt, all you pay for is the tag when you get there. Tickets are $1.00 a piece, open to everyone. I encourage you to attend this event. Come on out and help support your local archery clubs.

Costs:
$8.00 for MIA members
$10.00 for everyone
$20.00 for the whole family
$1.00 per arrow in the novelty shoot

We got a lot of neat things going on all weekend out there. We have the DNR there all weekend to anwser ANY of your questions concerning the NR issues and licenses quotas and costs. The IBA will be there to sign up members and anwser any questions. And we will have local pro shops there showcasing their new merchandise. Muzzy will be there on Sunday only. We have done a bunch of work to the North side of the course this past week. We installed wooden staricases up and down the hills, and did a bunch of maintence and upgrading. We also started mulching the South side of the course.

Looks like I'll be able to make it on Saturday around 8:30am - hopefully I'll run into a few other Iowawhitetailer's to shoot with.

When does everyone plan to shoot?

just got back from helping set up the shoot. its gonna be a good one. some great shots, and alot of vendors. not to be missed. if you don't show you are going to regret it. outdoors dan will even be there sunday

Just got back my self. WOW. You do not want to miss this one. Central Iowa Archery and the Tackle Shack set up today. Holy Smokes. They have lots of archery equiptment, tons of scent lock (ON SALE), lots of bows, (come out and compare for your self), tree stands, ladder stands, everything my wife says I dont need. The course looks great, Novelty shots are awesome. I meet with the gentleman from Muzzy tonight, he will be there on Sunday morning with the Muzzy Be Quick Game, and some freebies. The IBA has their new merchandise for sale and will be signing up new members. Come on out and bring the whole family.

man, those of you who didn't make it to the shoot, need to get there tomorrow. it was great. lx and i even got to shoot with ironwood, and THE onecam himself. i had a blast.
i think the sponsor of the novelty shot, should donate a dozen arrow wraps to the shooter who makes the neatest piece of scrap carbon on the bionic deer. (i think i'm winning

i know i'm going back sunday, as is lxshooter, and ironwood is gonna try to come back with his boys. i suppose i could bring my trimmers, if that hippie boy wants a trim

It was a great day, good turn out, great course, awesome food, fun noveltys. We had the DNR there today, got to converse with them for a while on many topics. We agreed on many topics. We also had a sit down with Richard Bishop (Head of the DNR). He is going to try and make it out tommorrow. If you have any questions at all, this is the time to ask them. He is open to any questions and will sit down and discuss them with you. Central Iowa Archer & the Tackle Shack have lots of great specials on scent lock, bows, accessories, picked up a bug tamer 3D leaf Jacket,Pants,and Hooded Mask for only $60.00. What a steal. Dont forget, tommorrow MUZZY will be on hand with their Muzzy be quick shooting game, and lots of freebies. The IBA will be there in full force signing up new members, selling new merchandise, and conversing with anyone on a number of topics. Even if you dont want to shoot, there is still a lot of things to see, do, eat, look at, buy, and sell.
Registration is from 8-1 tommorrow and awards and raffle drawings will be at 3:00. Dont forget, Iowawhitetail.com is sponsoring the bionic buck novelty shoot for a FREE THREE DAY TEXAS HOG HUNT , along with PMA memberships, tshirts, and wraps.

So what time are you guys gonna shoot tomorrow ? If I can make it, it wouldn't be until afternoon. CamoKid won't be coming, because he just left on a youth group mission trip. It's a lot of fun shooting with him, but I still would like to come by if I can.

Camoman - Registration is from 8-1 tommorrow. Everything kicks off at 8:00 am. I will be there at 7 if anyone would like to shoot early.

Camoman - I also talked to the DNR about your WDM city limits hunting. They told me that as long as it is a decent size piece of ground (over 3 acres), and it is privately owned and you have permission, that you should start by talking to the WDM Police Chief, if you strike out there then go to the city administrators, if you strike out there then the County Board of Supervisors. If you still cant get an anwser then contact them for help. That was a hot topic there. Seems like there are a few other people that are wanting to do the same thing, so your odds my be looking better. Let me know if you need any other help with this.

I am glad that we don't have that problem in C.B.The board of supervisors allows bowhunting in the city limits.The land size does play a part in it and also the distance from the city limits.As long as the landowner is approving then I don't see why they would have a problem with.Then again that is WDM and not here.Best of luck with it.
Wish I could make it there to meet some of you guys.I haven't been able to shoot for almost 2 years but then again the comaradary would be great.Hopefully the doc says that before season i will be able to practice up for season.
