If someone could take the shot back!

Driving this morning around the airport looking at the deer like many others, I seen something that just sucks. Watching a very big buck limping across the corn field I looked closer at him with the binoculars. In his front right shoulder was what looked like a small piece of an arrow shaft sticking out. I know there is just a few city hunters in this area, so not sure what happened. If some di(k head tried to poach him or maybe someone drew a buck tag, at least practice a little more so not to do this. Anyway just venting a little, just a shame this buck lives like this now. Hope he makes it. The picture I took didnt blow up enough for a post.

Definitely a crappy situation, but as a hunter you must realize that these things sometimes happen. I don't know of a single person that bowhunts that has made a perfect shot 100% of the time. If it was a situation where someone didn't put the time in to practice than it is a completely different story, but mistakes do happen every once in awhile.

Gansomn,
i know it stinks, my dad harvested a nice buck two yrs back, the buck had a broadhead lodged in his g-2 , and one in his shoulder blade. while skinning it we noticed it was festered up in that area, after quartering it we found the game head. The one in the rack is the one i dont get, i would have thought it would have bounced off , but the only thing sticking out was the back blades, and the threads to the broadhead, but he was healthy otherwise , we never knew it til then. my dad said he never acted like he was hurt at all, all we can hope for is the the buck will make a full recovery & mother nature will take its course.as ethical hunters , we all need to put in the practice time & make sure the shots we take are clean ethical shots. We shouldnt risk wounding them witout a chance of recovery.this is just a cardnial rule of any game we pursue,& a hunters code of conduct.im sure that hunter feels the same way, he wishes he could have taken the shot back, hes proably sicker over it than you if truth be known, and i hope so.

If it is in the right front shoulder, someone didn't miss by much, now if it was in the back end that would be a complete miss.
