I sent my e-mails to the gov with a little twist. Instead of leading with a bunch of talk about deer numbers etc. I led with the fact that I was a registered Republican and was disappointed in the direction Republicans were headed. That listening to a few powerful influences and ignoring the rest of Iowa was going to lose them a lot of votes next time around. THEN I brought up deer numbers and a common sense approach to that. If the title of your e-mail is DEER, it might not get read. If the title includes the word REPUBLICAN, it might.

There was some confusion about email addresses, your emails to Gov. may have bounced. Please make sure to email governor.contact@iowa.gov and wildlife@dnr.iowa.gov that way our emails are going to the same place as FB
