Incredible Video of 'Fan On A Stick' in action

The Hunt Never Ends....
So, I know some of you who have followed along with a few of my turkey posts have read about 'the fan on the stick' or something that my friends and I like to call 'The Widow Maker.' We have had some exciting hunts over the past 8 years using this method (thanks for my good friends Matt and Curt showing me way back in the day)! At first, I didn't really believe that using a method like this would work. I mean, these birds have awesome eye sight right? They can pick up movement from 200yards and run to the next county. How would they be 'dumb' enough to not see a person crawling behind a fan attached to a stick?

Well, let me tell you, it tricks them. Once they realize you are a turkey, they no longer see you as a threat and I swear I can basically do jumping jacks behind it. My friends and I have killed well over 30birds using this method over the past 8years.

Before anyone of you go and start saying how dangerous this is, let me say that I realize it CAN be dangerous if used unproperly. However, we only use it in the middle of fields and on PRIVATE farms with little to no other hunting pressure. If you do decide to use this method, please be safe and use some common sense.

Anyways, here is the video. I videotaped my hunting partner Blake Lefler a few weekends back. It was exciting to say the leasat. Enjoy!

Awesome stuff man. Always makes me chuckle when people say turkeys are smart. My buddy in Michigan has a "turkey helmet" that he made a few years ago. Its a baseball helmet with one of those realistic turkey hitch covers on the brim and a fan attached to the back with wings on the side. I have never seen him use it, but after watching this maybe I'll see if he'll send it to me. It actually looks pretty good. I could see you guys making one :D

Here's a pic of the Turkey helmet. You can put it out on a stick or wear it on your head for stalking! :D :way:

Sweet video. I shot a bird last Thursday and one tonight. Both birds were killed hiding behind a fan. One at 15yds and the one tonight was at 5yds. I love it. It can get pretty exciting.
