Was out bike riding tonight and heard alot of Katiedids. You know,,those grassHoppers that sing in the trees. Still singin for all they were worth,,and it's nearly Nov! After brief cool down, supposed to mild and dry again next week. Rut will be starting. Good to hear some are moving and being taken. I plan on gettin serious end of week and onward. Glad I prefer mornings, as thinkin bucks will prefer the cool mornings too.

Just read Central Alaska forecast for kicks. Highs 25 to 30 with rain and snow. Good huntin weather! Even supposed to get snow in MTNS of WY and Colorado, will warm out there too though next week.Nov forecast from Nat Weather Service-Nov,,,above normal Temps,,a good bet, for midwest. They can be wrong though..hope.....?

Our lows each night are down to b/w 15 and 20 F each night. We had some snow on Sunday but it eventually melted off. Daytime highs are still getting up to as much as 50 though. Alot more action in terms of deer sightings in the a.m right now.

If it is still in the 50s up there,,we have a long way to go to get to winter down here! I don't care what the experts say either. I just follow the pattern. So far the pattern since July and Aug has been mild and increasingly dry. so that's what I expect. Once Nature gets into a habit,,it sticks with it. Tends to anyway,,much like humans.

Tomorrow's forecast has me excited. 5 days of upper 70s and tomorrow is supposed to have a high of 50 or a little less. Hope that's right because my wife has tomorrow off and I have all day to hunt.
