Infra Red Homebrew

I have not, but hope to try a Samsung A503 out soon. The quality of the pictures is unmatched, or at least just as good as the P41. Hack is pretty easy to I hear.

Ive done 4 of them w/ P32's now.

Homebrews for infrared are by far the best out there.

Perfect for scrapes and feeder sites!

I had a couple IR homebrews but still prefer the white flash cameras. I myself like picture quality. IR pics always have a funny tint to them and usually are not as sharp as a regular flash picture.

I don't see much adverse effects of the white flash mainly because i like to mount my cameras up high pointing down.

Everybody has their own opinions about whiteflash vs IR. Just my 2 cents.

Pete, bigtypical and I made five IR p32s with the big foot controller the last go around. I tend to agree with iowabucks. I may even have a couple of homebrewed P32s for sale. I really love the picture quality of a white flash camera.

Just my opinion but as far as the P32 or P41, I'd want a slave flash for IR use. I've stayed with white flash for that reason alone although I also prefer the crispness that white flash provides. YMMV.

Talked with a few people and the slave flash for the IR are a pain to do. I wonder if many on here have done any with a slave flash?

You can easily avoid a slave flash for both the P32 and P41. You need to buy a thinner IR material. There are post regarding this on Hags I can't remember where we bought the stuff. Pete, Bigtypical help me out here.

Ironwood,
Talking with George at Tailsend he said most people have great results with the Thicker material. Looking at my pics it looks pretty good. I do not have anything to compare it to at the moment but I can put the smaller piece of glass in on the next one and see what I get.
Maybe Pete or Bigtypical can set me straight.

Well since I had back surgery I decided to make a few homebrews.
Made 3 P41's and 1 P32 and a P32 with IR.
Will be making a few more before next fall if I get time.

Rudd,
Thanks.
I have two from last year that I will need to get set up tomorrow after I put my mineral licks in and check for sheds.

Sorry I did not get a chance to talk with you a little more at the Classic. Next year I will probably just have to stay down a night. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Those look good Risto.

You would not have happened to have been the guy carrying a bunch of those in his arms at the eastern IA sports show would ya?

Sure was,

I was hoping to meet you at the Sports Show.
It looks like you have been busy making your own cameras.
