Insult to Injury

Have you ever been insulted by a deer? Well I sure have this weekend. Saturday I am in my treestand with deer coming in. One of which is a very large buck. I turn to get ready and I notice a doe giving me a staredown. The buck is now about 30 yards away broadside. I cannot do anything. Finally the buck wanders off with a doe and the doe that has been giving me the staredown is now broadside about 25 yards away and feeding. Since I have a antlerless tag I decide to try to take her. Guess what, I look at my watch and it's about 2 minutes passed legal shooting time! I just hang up my bow and watch the deer since now that I am stuck up the tree. Moving on to sunday. I am in the same treestand and I have deer moving just inside the treeline. I grab my grunt call and blow on it. Nothing. I blow on it again. Nothing. I look inside it and the reed and the wooden piece it is attached to is gone. I look in my pack and find the missing piece but I can't get it back into place. The deer moved on. So time passes and I am able to get down and leave. I finally get back to my truck about 6:00 pm and I am parked by the gravel road facing several rows of young pines with a picked corn field to the left. I am standing in the passenger side door with the inside truck light on getting out of my hunting clothes when I hear walking coming toward me from the pines. I stand there motionless when the same big buck walks out from the pines less than 10 yards from me and proceeds to walk on past me like I wasn't there and go across the road! Unbelievable!
