My dogs woke us up at around 5:30 this a.m. Looked out the window and saw a bear trying to get into my garbage stand. I walked outside and took some pics of it while wrapped in a towel then started yelling at it and tossing rocks at it to get lost. It just looked at me from about 30 yards. I came back inside and by this time my wife and father who is up visiting were telling me to get the rifle and shoot it b/c it wasn't scared. I really didn't want to kill it so I just through a couple shells in the shotgun, I then went outside and threw some more rocks, no luck. Last resort was to let my yellow lab Hunter out, he treed it in a big pine beside the dumpster. I then called him back into the house and went out and sent a shot over the bear's head, he came down the tree and ambled off into the woods, not in a real hurry I might add. The pics I took turned out dark b/c of the light outside, hopefully the ones dad took turn out better so I can post one when he gets home. He only gets one chance, if he comes back I'm going to have to kill him, I'm already second guessing my decision with a toddler in the house. Oh yeah.......I challenge any guy to rip big hunks of 2x4 apart as easly as he did.
