Interstate 80 conditions?

I'm heading to Council Bluffs and then up to Sioux Falls tomorrow around noon... I hope.

How does I-80 west bound look around Grinnell, Newton, Des Moines, etc.

Thanks very much in advance.

only problems you might find from des moines west, is slick patches where snow is blowing across the road. may not even be an issue by the time you are coming through. once you get to des moines, it should be smooth sailing

watch out for the snipers at exit 191....I, I mean they know what you drive.

Your favorite truck stops are closed.

It sounds like it's patchy crappiness. There was a photo online near Tiffin where all lanes looked just fine, but the traffic was backed up from some idiot trying to go too fast.

Hopefully things clear up by 11 tomorrow morning when I plan to leave.

Bingo. Clear road for a mile then packed ice 1"-2" thick that reminds you of a dirt road. Westbound is worse than eastbound. If the wind lays down for a while the salt should start to break it up.
Sunday and Monday they were diving into the median like it was an Olympic event. WHO TV said something like 120 cars between DM and IC.

Definite Westbound is worse, counted 20 that look like they just pulled over into the median. That was from 182 to 191.
