Hey, thanks for the info. How about payin for a banner ad here next year? Or even better yet, how about some sort of dicounted admission to members of this site? Or maybe a break on the boothspace for iowawhitetail.com to make up for the free advertising you just took advantage of?

I trust I don't have to produce proof. Maybe I'll just wear these: Girl Shed Shoes

I said it before, but if you're pimping your event for free here, then please know that you really need to improve your seminars and speakers. Very generic topics, and many are repeats from several years in a row. Please bring something fresh, and don't let the show slide.

WOW, didn't I see those in a, ummm, ahhh, hmmmm, adult cinematic event?

Guys,

Couple thoughts on my first visit to your site since last year.

One - Not quite certain who started this thread. I'm guessing it was some college intern at the Iowa Events Center who get paid nothing and has the job of doing stuff like this. If you don't want the post - I am sure your administrator will be glad to delete it; or, maybe start a board announcing upcoming events.

Two - http://www.iowawhitetail.com gets a substantial booth discount in trade for a link to this site.

Three - I have only two repeat seminars from last year. Byron Ferguson, who I personally enjoy watching every year and Bill Hesselgrave, who reminds me every year of the right way to butcher a deer.

Four - As far as fresh; Lee & Tiffany Lakosky, and Greg Miller are two of the hottest TV personalities available and neither have spoken at the Classic. We had Waddel for the two year prior. I have never had speaker sugestion from the hunting public. Who do you want? (And, no, I talked to Ted Nugent's manager this summer and Ted now gets $25 large plus 1st class travel - I cannot afford him).

Five - We have a half price bulk ticket program (50 minimum) available to all exhbitors. I'd be happy to sign you guy's up. Otherwise, down load the coupon on web site to save $3. Or better yet, bring in a trophy for the big buck contest and get a three day pass for $20 and save $10 over buying 3 tickets

Six - I have no control over concession prices. The Event Center is publicly owned by Polk County. Write your alderman/supervisor/congressman.

Given you guys don't arrange for another snow storm, I think we're going to have a great event. I have a very strong exhbit floor this year and am very excited to see the NASP state championships.

Thanks for the feedback.

Greg, thanks for posting. There may be a banner add, I think I saw one last year but I don't remember seeing one this year. Unfortunately I don't pay much attention to the banners anymore, they are like back ground noise; always there, but you learn to ignore them. Which doesn't say much about the value of a banner, but what are ya gonna do?

As far as the booth discount, I didn't know. Thanks.

Groups of 50 or more half price is a good deal and I'm sure this site could round up 50 willing particpants but the logistics would blow.

Last years weather did screw things up. Did you have event weather insurance? If you did I hope you were able to collect.

And I belive there is a sticky thread on this forum about future events, again, more white noise.

Anyway, I'll gladly give you my money again this year and to the greater Des Moines metropolitan area. I've enjoyed your shows, all three I've gone to. I got a late start.

Thanks again for posting.

'Bonker,

Are you saying I am not getting value from the booth discount I give ya'll? LOL

I do not buy weather insurance. Hope you are not in the insurance biz, but I think it's a rip. With the worst weather imaginable in 2007 our box office was down 10% and 10% of the exhbitors did not make it (I gave them a 50% discount on this year). Remarkably, most exhbitors reported great sales. I'm thinking the die hards came while all the "Looky Lou's" were hunkered down at home.

Nope, I've clicked on every banner on here at least 10 times today. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Greg has worked pretty hard to take care of some of our sponsors to make sure they get booth space next to ours. He runs a good show. We will have Treehopper, Boar Ridge and Gray Wolf in the same isle. It will be a blast!
