Is anyone going? We have a group of four that is headed over on Friday to a Cubs game as a warm up and then we'll get to see the Hawks kick off the season in Soldier Field. It should be a great weekend! We are going to a Pub by Wrigley called Goose Island Brewery before the baseball game. They are having a Hawkeye pregame party. I have never been to Soldier Field and have just been to Wrigley once. I'm just hoping for good weather!

sounds like a great time. I made it to Wriggley last summer for the first time. I am about the unluckiest guy when it comes to events like this when weather is involved.....yup, they got rained out. It poured for 2 hours before they called the game. It was a great experience just to be in the stadium tho. My 70+ year old mother goes several times a year to cheer on the Cubs. Have fun. Go Hawks.

Unfortunately I won't be making it. Anyone else concerned about this Big Ten network and how it will affect televised games? I got screwed last year with the ESPNU thing.

That sounds like a great time.Been a couple of years since I have been to Wrigley.Timekiller, sounds like you need to get hooked up to Direct TV.Thats what I did last fall and have there sports package ,and there is not much in games that we miss.My son and I liked there college baseball coverage.During bow season I miss alot of the hawk games anyway unless we go over to Iowa City .Try to take a break from the stand and catch some of the game on the radio in the truck.I heard on the news last night the game is already sold out!

Muddy, you're about the third person that has suggested 312. I'm sure it will be the first one I try! 10:30-1:00 it's all you can eat and drink so I will try to get my fill before I have to pay for ballpark priced beer.

Sounds like a great weekend! My neighbors are going and asked us if we wanted to go with them, but unfortunately work will keep me close to home.

We were at Wrigley Field about 2 weeks ago. Saw a great game and had great weather. (Ramirez hit a walk off home run with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th.) Wrigleyville is a great area to hang out. Would love to hang out in that area all summer.

Don't know what it will be like at Soldier Field for a college game, but the Bears games are crazy. You'll have a lot of fun.

PS. Bring LOTS of money, having fun in the big city is costly!

A coworker (who is from Chicago) told me today that a Chicago Hawkeye bar named Merkle's bought some tickets and are selling a package deal (shirt, parking, tailgaiting) for around $90. Heck, that is less than buying a ticket to the ISU/UI game (since ISU is forcing people to buy season tickets!).

From Merkle's website:
IOWA vs. NIU
Soldier Field - Chicago - Sept.1
Merkle's only has a few tickets left, SO CALL NOW! Don't miss out on the biggest Iowa event of the year!

# $90 Tailgate Pack Includes: 1 Ticket to the Game
# Transportation To & From
# 3 Hour Hawkeye Tailgate Party w/Food & Beverages
# Commemorative Hawkeye
T-Shirt
# Commemorative Hawkeye
Stadium Cup

THERE ARE STILL A FEW LEFT!
*Call 773.244.1025 and purchase your tickets today! Tickets are extremely limited.

Does it taste anything like Boulevard Wheat?

Yes, but I think Boulevard Wheat is just a little better.
